Buttonz & Tilez, two very cool freeware programs that allow you to easily create attractive buttons and backgrounds without using any complicated and expensive graphics programs. Buttonz allows you to create navigation buttons in a wide variety of styles, with complete control over lighting direction, bevel size, and button size. It will also allow you to add text to the button, control the placement of the text, colorize and fill the button with various provided textures, and much more. Tilez allows you to create tiling background images by choosing among a selection of textures, modifying them with various filters, colorize them, see a preview of what the image would look like tiled on a page, and much more. ShoeString's PictureDicer

A very cool utility that will allow you to take a large image and split it up into many separate, smaller images to make it suitable for creating mouseover effects and pseudo-imagemaps on Web pages. It also generates the HTML for a table to contain the partial images and display them so they appear as the original uncut image.
