-
An HTML validator that
professes to give easier to understand HTML error messages. Requires
a DOCTYPE declaration if you want to validate any tags for anything
other than other HTML 2.0. For example, to validate for HTML 3.2
specs, include this as the first line of your page: <!DOCTYPE
HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 3.2//EN">.
-
An online validator that not
only allows you to specify what DTD you want to validate your web
pages against (Navigator 3.0, MSIE 3.0, HTML 3.2, Lynx 2.5, etc),
but also point out potential accessibility problems for your
visitors with disabilities.
-
Validate your style sheets to
the W3C official specification to check for possible errors.
-
Awesome! Doctor HTML is an HTML
validator that does more than just validate. I couldn't possibly
list all the things it does here (you really need to see it for
yourself), but not only does it check for HTML errors, it checks and
makes suggestions for spelling errors, verifies links, checks and
makes suggestions for image syntax, and estimates how long it will
take your page to load at a 14.4 baud rate, plus MUCH more. To
insure good peformance for all visitors, you're limited to checking
three web pages each time you start up your browser.
-
An online HTML validator that
allows you to choose the level of HTML standards enforcement,
whether or not to include style warnings, check for spelling errors,
and checks the validity of your links.
-
If you're using an online HTML
Validator to check your pages for errors, but are tired of racking
up hours online while you wait for your page to be validated, then
check this out. HTML Validator is a shareware program (available for
a 30 day evaluation) that allows you to validate your pages offline
if you have Windows 95 or NT. This is an excellent, fully featured
utility that not only provides support for Netscape and Microsoft
HTML tags, but also features drag and drop validation, ability to
add your own tags to be validated, an HTML code stripper, converting
characters between < and > to either upper or lower case, and
more.
-
A tool that will inspect your
site and perform diagnostics on it in the following categories:
browser compatibility, link validity, popularity, load time, Submit
It! readiness, spelling, and HTML validity. It also provides a
rating of your site based on how well you did in these categories,
and will give you suggestion on how to improve your rating. A very
useful and informative tool.
-
A free online validator that
will check either a single page or your entire site for HTML coding
errors. Enter the URL of the page or site you want to check, and
after processing, you'll be given your source code along with any
errors that might exist.
-
A free offline HTML validator
for Windows 95.
-
The World Wide Web Consortium's
validator that allows you to check your web pages for errors against
the latest HTML version.
-
A tool for checking your web
pages for errors. Enter your URL and Weblint tries to find any HTML
problems. Assigns line numbers to your code so that you can easily
find any errors that the validator finds.
-
This online utility will
evaluate your web page and give it grades in five categories; load
time, dead links, site popularity, spelling, and HTML design. Once
you've entered the URL of a page you want to evaluate, you'll see a
rating of excellent, good, fair, or poor for each category. Clicking
on a category's name will allow you to view details on what problems
the validator found (such as dead links, misspellings, and HTML
coding errors).
